Having a successful game
plan has helped Jim Free reach and maintain elite status in real estate
in three states for 20 years.
Part of his plan was to
carve out a unique and prosperous segment of the real estate market. A
market where the property location is key and having offices near the
buying consumer to serve them is not forgotten.
Jim Free Realty
specializes in resort properties in Florida, Georgia and Alabama. And
Jim believes covering this market takes a different business concept.
His real estate company believes REALTORS across the industry are
treated as his company's partners. For example, he points out that his
company markets directly to them and one of his incentives to
cooperative REALTORS and brokers whose Georgia clients are buying
investment properties in Florida receive a 50-50 split on commissions.
Jim Free Realty's third
plan is building relationships in the industry that are mutually
beneficial. In part Jim and his agents work with developers with
pre-construction sales and updates real estate agents monthly with
current market reports.
Personally, Jim is one of
those unique individuals who is a high achiever, looking at his
background. While building Jim Free Realty into a successful business he
was also serving his community as a law enforcement officer, serving 31
years in that capacity and 20 years as chief. He graduated from the FBI
National Academy where he received the J. Edgar Hoover award for
scholastic excellence. He has served as chairman of the board of
advisors for the Salvation Army, president of the Kiwanis Club and is
presently on the board of directors of RCW industries. He is active in
his church and has been a real estate educator for 15 years, teaching at
Floyd College, Berry College, and Jason Free School of Real Estate.
Jim will be the first to
tell you he could not have had the company success if it were not for
his family, who followed him to the real estate business. As Jim states,
"It has been a joy to work with my family and it has only strengthened
our family."
Jim has 42 agents and
instills the wisdom and advice of one of his mentors, J.L. Todd, who
runs one of the largest auction companies told him about being fair and
honest with people you are dealing with and always treating them right.
Jim says to his agents, "Look for the wise thing to do and don't always
go for the easy thing to do in your real estate transactions."
With this type of
